- I was on my way to Paris to see the final stage of the TDF. I did have some questions about racing, and riding with your team. I am in Baumholder and would like to ride/race as much as possible. Any info would be a big help, I'll be there in Aug for the race

I have a "tentative job offer" with the Army Corps of Engineers at Spangdahlem. If all goes well, I will be arriving around June 1st. Can't tell you how excited I was to find your group of cyclist. I am more of a road and touring cyclist but I look forward to getting involved in mountain biking.

Jacob "Jake" Skugrud said… - Hector - Bamberg was FAST ! ! except for the monster stau on A3 that I detoured around at the minute. Supposedly 30k, 10k per loop - I wrapped things up in 1:09:01 officially and lapped Koppa every time I went the race went through the parking lot, as he was stationary watching his kids while his wife races. Overfield was not there either, so I just focused on staying ahead of Larry Purdue. I opted to ride most of the race with the front fork locked out. There was some "singletrack", but not too much, a couple of logs, a crazy loose gravel Kamikaze downhill corner and a wheel eating trench. Ended up making the 09 AUG Stars&Stripes sports section.
