Riding and racing.

Andrew Overfield

2009 US Forces Europe Mountain Bike Series Championship

It has been a long season, and one which was cut short for many riders. However for those of you who are still here or those who wish they were still here I have attached the race info which ODR Hohenfels sent to me today.

30km for the men
24km for the women

Course has been cut from the 10mi which we saw earlier this year to a 6km loop which looks a lot like the course we raced last year.

I will be heading up early Friday Afternoon with the intent of pre riding the course.

John and I are heading up Friday morning, and hope to be checked in to our hotel by 3pm at the latest. I think we are going to pre-ride it as well, maybe we'll see you there? We are not camping at this one, found a nice little village to spend the whole weekend. We're staying at Pension Im Malerwinkel in Kallmünz which is not too far from post. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the last race of the season...and our last race in USAFE.
Thank you, Andrew, for keeping us informed :-). I'm kind of happy to see the adjustments made to that challenging loop.

Really will have to look into this tomorrow when I get to work, kind of remember always shelling out some bucks to race in the Championship when it was held in Garmisch.

I can't remember if the race was free, but you had to pay for the sweet T-shirt :-)

Quoted from the MOI:
12. Fees: There is no entry fee for participation in the final U.S. Forces Europe Championship.
Note: Each of the series races listed in para 5 may charge registration fees based on costs at each location. Locally generated commercial sponsorship support should allow for low local entry fees.
